I collaborated with IBM software developers to create Avion, a web app for travelers. Unlike typical travel apps, Avion combines trip planning, recording, and social networking in one platform, aiming to connect travelers with each other and share adventures.

Inspired by birds and their migratory patterns, we designed Avion to foster community and exploration. Using Material Design for a consistent user interface across platforms, we developed the app's front-end with React JS and the back-end with Node JS. The design system ensured a beautiful and functional digital product.

A key challenge was differentiating Avion from existing travel apps. We addressed this by creating unique features like “Nest,” a social hub for users to plan trips together and exchange ideas via voice or text. Another challenge was integrating multiple services into a seamless experience, which we achieved by showcasing community-vetted travel destinations, events, and activities, all consolidated on one page.

Avion offers travelers an easy-to-use platform to plan trips, connect with others, and share their experiences. The app’s innovative features, like the Journal and Nest, enhance user engagement and create a vibrant travel community.
