Context

Designed the user interface and scalable design system for a responsive, multi-touchpoint web app aimed at helping Fläsh’s dental practice clients boost teeth whitening treatment bookings and drive social media engagement.

Challenges:

Fläsh, a German B2B supplier of teeth whitening products, serves dental practices globally. To help their clients increase annual whitening treatments and raise awareness through patient-generated social media content, Fläsh sought to develop an innovative AR-powered app.

This app required a responsive design to support three main touchpoints:

  1. Desktop & Mobile Web: For patients to access whitening simulations and shareable content.
  2. Tablet Displays: For dental clinics to showcase whitening outcomes during consultations.
  3. Kiosk Screens: For trade show demonstrations to attract potential buyers.


The challenge was to create a seamless, visually appealing app for all three touchpoints while adhering to Fläsh’s existing branding and catering to a multilingual, global audience.

Process:

  1. Product Strategy: Reviewed Fläsh’s business goals, technical requirements, and wireframes while collaborating with stakeholders to understand how each touchpoint would serve dental practices and their patients. Identified key use cases to ensure the designs effectively addressed unique user needs.
  2. UI and Design System Creation: Designed a responsive, scalable design system optimized for React Native, ensuring seamless interfaces across desktop, mobile web, tablet displays, and kiosk screens. Integrated AR features such as real-time whitening filters, background swaps, and playful overlays to enhance user engagement.
  3. Addressing Brand Constraints: Developed a sleek, modern UI that refreshed Fläsh’s visual identity while maintaining alignment with existing brand guidelines. Positioned the app as a foundation for future rebranding opportunities, including a corporate identity refresh and website overhaul.
  4. Collaboration and Delivery: Delivered a fully documented, developer-friendly design system to streamline implementation while ensuring compatibility with 36+ languages, including right-to-left scripts, to support a global user base.

Results:

  • Seamless Multi-Touchpoint Experience: A responsive app tailored for desktop/mobile web, clinic tablets, and trade show kiosks.
